Australia's Best Beaches
The results are in, and Misery Beach in Western Australia has nabbed the top spot for best Australian beaches in 2022. Located near Albany in WA, this 'picture perfect' beach is great for swimmers and sun-soakers alike, set amongst picturesque surroundings. The Federal Minister for Trade chose Australia's top beaches for 2022 from spots in every state and territory, selecting spectacular beaches 'that will inspire and excite holidaymakers all over Australia and the world'.
Another top beach spot that made the list is Horseshoe Bay, located in the idyllic coastal village of South-West rocks in NSW, with spectacular views and a vast shoreline.
The Spit has been heralded as a top choice for Gold Coast beachgoers. This beach is slightly more remote than other list-toppers, offering a chance to escape from the city's bustle, uninterrupted opportunities for quiet bushwalks, surfside reflections, higher-level surfing, scuba diving, and snorkeling.
Adelaide natives are invited to take a trip down to Flaherty's beach, a gem located in Southern Australia. With shimmering turquoise waters and powder-white sand, you can soak up the sun and sprawl in the crystal waters of the numerous shallow tidal sandbanks.
If you're taking a trip along the Great Ocean Road this summer, be sure to stop at Loch Ard Gorge, a spot with golden sands, towering limestone cliffs and pristine views. This secluded beach is located within Port Campbell National Park, with crystal water to attract visitors from near and far.
